Orlagh O'Brien is a design educator, with a background as a practising graphic designer in branding, communications, websites and presentation; working with clients such as Vodafone, Toyota, The Mercer Group and Diageo. She completed an MA with distinction from London College of Communication in 2006, with the project Emotionally}Vague, which has received international interest from reputable scientists and artists. Orlagh worked for a couple of years as Associate Lecturer in University of the Arts, London, specialising in visual research methods, and has an interest in semiotics, colour, emotion, and information graphics. She believes that with exponentially increasing data available for every aspect of our lives, there is danger of a consequent overload and reduced quality to how we see and read both information and people. Orlagh is committed to bringing clarity to design and education through dialogue, working processes and research, with the aspiration to achieve transparency and connection in the products, services and experiences of our daily lives.
She currently lives in Cork, Ireland.
